Logitech and Herman Miller Team to Make Collaboration More Intuitive, Effective and Engaging

May 18, 2018
Delta Air Lines Transforms Virtual Technical Operations Training Center with Joint Solutions from the Two Companies

Logitech and Herman Miller have teamed to deliver thoughtfully integrated furnishings and collaboration tools that enable people to feel more connected to each other and to the work they do. Through this agreement, the two companies are leveraging research and insights on the future of work to align products and deliver solutions that help customers create and collaborate to their maximum potential.

Video conferencing has become a mainstay in today’s business communications. In a recent study by Frost & Sullivan, 78% of the respondents said they communicate with partners or colleagues who are based at a different location on a daily basis. As work teams become increasingly dispersed around the globe, Logitech and Herman Miller will initially focus on making video conferencing more effective and engaging.

Delta Air Lines is one of the first customers to benefit from the joint Logitech and Herman Miller solution. The company wanted to enhance its TechOps virtual training courses for aircraft maintenance technicians. Delta TechOps provides training and development over video for its more than 10,000 aircraft maintenance employees and more than 20,000 business partners, to keep airplanes flying safely every day.

“Logitech and Herman Miller created a space that just makes us proud,” said Bill Smith, director of Learning and Development at Delta TechOps. “The purpose-built environment is very inviting. It helps our people better connect and be more creative than in the past.”

Together, Logitech and Herman Miller designed an environment to help create a strong virtual connection between Delta TechOps instructors and its worldwide students. Using Logitech video collaboration solutions and Herman Miller’s innovative furniture designs, Delta TechOps instructors can now effectively engage with course participants anywhere in the world, allowing for instruction to be more agile and occur expeditiously, which also results in cost savings.

“The end game is less fatigue and more engagement,” said Jerry Salzano, instructor developer for Delta Tech Ops. “We’ve got the room booked solid for the next three and a half months, for 16 hours a day every day.”
